Read this before download Sicyon Lite

    1. System Requirements:

    Microsoft Windows ™ - / 98 / ME / NT(4.0) / XP Home and Pro /

• If you are using Windows XP (Home or Pro)
  - no need to preinstall anything

• Otherwise, check the version of "wscript.exe": go to your system directory (e.g. WinNT/System32), find wscript.exe , right click on it, choose Properties, turn Version page and you will see the version under "File version". If it is earlier than 5.6, I would recommend that you download version 5.6 of Windows Script Host (WSH) from one of the link here and install it.

  The WSH issue concerns the compatibility of the function boards you would create (not Sicyon itself).

   2. Installation

1. Updating options

• If you don't have previous installation of Sicyon calculator: skip this point.
• If you have earlier than v4.x: version 4.x can co-exists with older versions, but I would recommend that you uninstall the older version first (keep the boards you have created).
• If you have v4.x: the setup will overwrite all the changes you have made in distributable Sicyon files (except for the options - Sicyon.ini ). So if you made such a changes and you want to keep some of them, copy the files in different directory (e.g. Temp) and copy them back after the installation.

2. Download SicyonLiteSetup.exe - here or upper right corner of the current page.   

3. Run the downloaded file and follow the instructions.

    3. Uninstallation

Run Uninstall from Sicyon program group. Alternatively, go thru : Setting -> Control Panel -> Add / Remove Program -> Sicyon calculator, Remove.

    4. Fee

The software product Sicyon Lite is freeware - you can use it wherever you like, as long as you like, without any charge or fee.  If you want full technical support or just like the product and would like to give your contribution to its improvement, register yourself (see below). 

    5. Terms and Conditions

Feel free to distribute Sicyon Lite as is to anyone interested. As is, means without changing, removing or adding whatsoever from the downloaded package.

The author of this software will not take responsibility for any damage that may result from the use of this software. The files contained in the package are distributed without any expressed or implied warranties. The user assumes the entire risk of using the software.

    6. Technical Support

I will try to fix any reported bugs and help you as soon as possible, but the registered users will have a priority.

    7. Registration

The registration is free of charge. To be registered you have to fill in survey form - of at least 10 questions. After receiving your survey form, I will send you back your registration number.  Having your reg. number you will make 'UNREGISTERED' in the title bar of Sicyon disappear as well. Registered users will be optionally informed about the next revisions of Sicyon Lite/Pro.

The survey is about your opinion of Sicyon, so to have one I would suggest that you accumulate experience for a couple of weeks before filling in the survey form.
I consider the information from this survey strictly confidential.

    8. How can you help?

Sicyon Lite is free, so I would appreciate your participation in making Sicyon better and useful for more people:

A. Spread the news of Sicyon existence (user interest is the best motivation for me).

B. If you have found a bug or something you consider unusual behavior, write me a message HERE.
Please, do not forget to state the conditions and/or steps to have the bug. I must be able to reproduce it, in order to fix it.

C. Publish the boards you create; function or data boards, which could be interesting for somebody else. Use publish buttons in the Function Edit dialog and Databoard Utility or copy&paste the board text HERE. After revisions most of them will be published on the Sicyon web site and selected ones will be included in Sicyon package, but in either case your name will be in the Info section. Of course you can make your boards public from your web-site as well (give me a hint and I'll include a link to it).
